What is a Notary?

An English Notary Public is a member of a very old and separate branch of the legal profession appointed by the Archbishop of Canterbury through the Court of Faculties.

The work of a Notary Public always involves work within an international dimension and documents will often only be accepted in foreign jurisdictions if they have been authenticated by a Notary and bear his seal and signature.

The Notary’s main task is to ensure that his Notarial Act may be relied on by anyone throughout the world who may receive the document
