Legalisation

Depending on which country your documents are needed for then there may be a further process that the documents need to go through which is called legalisation.

This often simply involves sending the document to the United Kingdom Foreign and Commonwealth Office who will confirm the validity of my signature and seal which they do by adding their own seal called an apostille.

Apostilles are internationally recognised under the Hague Convention.

In relation to quite a lot of other countries, the documents will then need to be sent from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to the Consulate of the country for which the documents will be used.

I can explain a country’s legalisation requirements and can assist you or deal with the matter for you and will advise you on the cost and timescale on an individual case.
